“Ahamkara” (a term used in Indian philosophical texts), also called ego is a tricky thing. To deal with it is a challenge, and sometimes we are unaware of its functionality. At the end of the written piece (image), the repeated use of ‘my’ denotes that. I realised that after completing this piece and so thought of maybe rewriting it. But that would just mean that I am putting a facade which will go against the element of authenticity. By being aware of it, maybe we can gradually lose hold of it, hopefully.
Moreover, the layer of making a mistake in the first instance and overwriting has a beauty of its own. There is no ‘perfection’ in this world, no matter how hard we try. Isn’t it good that we don’t have control over that and hence, no responsibility of attaining perfection? This responsibility is a mere illusion imposed by us, and we have the free will to not become enslaved by it. In addition, I am sure there are many mistakes in my sentence structures, but that is what it is. This is how a stream of consciousness works, right? No compulsion to follow any set rules. With all due respect to all the languages, the language of the heart needs to be respected too. -Ashna |
